Position Details

Job Title: Admin / Human Resource Officer

Duty Station: Kumba, South-West Region (with occasional travel to project sites in Meme, Lebialem and Manyu Divisions)

Contract Type: Full-time

Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance and funding availability)

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary
The Admin/Human Resource Officer will be responsible for overseeing AMEF’s human resource management systems and administrative functions to ensure smooth organizational operations, compliance with labour regulations, and adherence to donor requirements.
The role is central to strengthening AMEF’s institutional capacity, internal accountability, and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Management
•Coordinate recruitment processes (job postings, shortlisting, interviews, reference checks).
•Prepare employment contracts and ensure proper onboarding of new staff.
•Maintain updated and confidential personnel files.
•Support staff performance appraisal processes.
•Monitor staff attendance, leave management, and contract renewals.
•Ensure compliance with Cameroonian labour laws and AMEF HR policies.
•Support payroll preparation and benefits administration.

2. Administrative Management
•Oversee office administration and logistics.
•Manage procurement documentation in collaboration with program teams.
•Maintain asset register and inventory tracking systems.
•Ensure proper filing and documentation of administrative records.
•Support organization of meetings, workshops, and official events.
•Ensure office safety, security, and operational efficiency.
3. Policy and Institutional Strengthening
•Support development and updating of HR manuals, policies, and procedures.
•Ensure safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct compliance.
•Contribute to strengthening internal control systems.
•Support donor compliance audits by ensuring proper HR and admin documentation.
Required Qualifications
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field.

Experience
•Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in HR and administrative roles.
•Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is an asset.
•Familiarity with labour regulations in Cameroon.

•High level of integrity and confidentiality.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
•Ability to work independently and in a team.
